Change name

The application method differs depending on whether you have a reservation before the change deadline or if the change deadline/test date has passed.
*The deadline for changes is 23:59 (Japan time) three business days before the test date. If the test date is a weekend or a Japanese public holiday, the deadline for changes is 23:59 (Japan time) four business days before the test date.
*Business days exclude Saturdays, Sundays, Japanese holidays, and New Year's holidays. Japanese holidays can be confirmed on the "Business Day Calendar."

Changing the name of a person who has a reservation before the change deadline

  1. Please submit a change request using the application form.
    To apply for a change, you will need to upload Confirmation Letter and the photo page of your passport. Please prepare them in advance.
  2. If your request is accepted, your reservation will be canceled before the test date and a cancellation notification email will be sent to your registered email address.
  3. The name change will be made within 10 business days after you receive the cancellation notification email, so please make sure your name is correct before making a new test reservation.

Notes

  • Not all names can be modified.
  • If you use Ewallet, a cancellation fee of 11.64% will be charged. When you receive the reservation cancellation notification email, please log in to your My Page, click the "Refund" button, and enter your refund account information.

Name changes for those who have passed the change deadline or test date

Name changes cannot be made to confirmed appointments. Name changes will be reflected in your next scheduled exam.
Before you schedule your next exam, please contact us, select the country you will be taking the exam in, and submit your name change request through our contact form.

Notes

  • Not all names can be modified.
  • If you take the exam with incorrect registration information, your result report will not be revised or reissued.
  • If you are unable to take the exam or encounter problems such as incomplete documents when applying for a residence status due to incorrect registration information, the exam organizers and Prometric will not be held responsible.
  • For exams that have Retake Policy, please schedule your next exam after waiting the specified number of days.

Changes to gender, date of birth, or nationality for those who have passed the change deadline or test date

The gender, date of birth, and nationality of a confirmed reservation cannot be changed. Reservations cannot be cancelled or refunded. Please make a new reservation with the correct information.

  • Even if you take the exam with incorrect registration information, we will not amend or reissue your result report.
  • The test organizers and Prometric will not be held responsible for any issues that may arise, such as being unable to take the test or not being able to submit sufficient documents when applying for a status of residence due to incorrect registration information.
  • For exams that allow you to Retake Policy, please make a new reservation after waiting the required number of days.

Other changes (address, email address, phone number)

You can change it yourself. Please log in from "Confirm and change your personal information" and carry out the change procedure.
There is no need to contact customer service or apply.
